William Hubert Bunch passed away in Tuscaloosa, Al. at Hospice of West Alabama after a short illness on October 23, 2013, two weeks short of his 90th birthday. He was born Nov. 1, 1923 in Union Grove, Al. to William Ernest and Lillie Junkins Bunch. He had 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 4 half brothers and sisters. Hebert was married to Sarah Jones Bunch for 65 years at her death in 2012.
Hubert was active military in World War II and The Korea Conflict and retired as a Lt. Colonel from the Alabama National Guard. He graduated from Jacksonville State University and worked for Gold Kist Poultry until he retired in 1984. He and Sarah then moved to Enterprise, Al. to be near family. He continued to be active in the poultry field by traveling with VOCA, a government agency that aids foreign countries as a volunteer consultant. He and Sarah were fortunate to travel to many countries in this work. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Enterprise, Al. and a Mason.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Bishop (Benny) of Tuscaloosa; granddaughter, Kassa Boyett of Hoover; grandson, Chad Bishop of Harvey, La; and 2 great grandchildren, Kenzie Boyett and Keaton Boyett.
Graveside service will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Albertville, Al.
