Shirley Jean Strange, 70, passed away at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, with her loving son Avery and his family by her side. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm, in Marshall Memorial Gardens, on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022, with Sister Lucille Mayfield officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Avery Hendrix, Hunter Hendrix, Ronald McGuire, Josh McGuire, Craig Madden and Bobby Madden.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald McGuire and Bobby Madden.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father William Hershel Strange, her mother Mary Lee Strange, and sister Nelda Joe Howard.
Shirley was born and raised in Guntersville, AL. She attended Marshall County High School and she graduated in 1971. She met and married Caudell Hendrix in 1973 and their family was complete with the birth of their son Avery in 1974.
Shirley had a loving spirit, was a wonderful Christian lady with a positive attitude, even when she was faced with unspeakable tragedy. She was a fun-loving person who enjoyed life. She enjoyed shopping and loved supporting the local businesses in Marshall County and was often seen around the area.
Shirley is survived by her devoted son Avery Hendrix and his wife Patti; her grandson Hunter Hendrix; and her sister Jewell Fortune and her husband Glen. Special thanks to Cynthia Eldridge for being a close friend and being her caregiver.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 22nd until the start of the service in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
