Albertville

Sandy Hood, (Sandra Stone) 76, of Albertville, passed away Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.  Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, by Lula Dobbs at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Buckley, Gregory Ford, Aiden McGee, Shawn McGee,  Andy Hudgins and Dwayne Wray, Dustin Rowland, Brian Childress.

Sandy was preceded in death by her son:  Terry Lee Ford; her grandchildren Tony Ford II and Tiffany Kelley; her parents Cliff and Ruby Hood; her sisters Bertha Oglethorpe and Barbara Ann Waage and her beloved fur babies:  Harley and Maggie.

Sandy was born and raised in Guntersville and was a fixture of the local community.  She enjoyed cooking and went to culinary school where she perfected the art of making wonderful dishes for her family and friends to enjoy.

She was a strong independent woman who raised her 3 sons the best she could.  She worked hard and did everything she could to provide for her children.  She was very straightforward and always told things like it was, no sugar coating on anything for her.

When she was younger, she was the life of the party.  She loved to dance and loved meeting new people and socializing with her family and friends.  She had a great personality and was known to be the center of attention wherever she was.

Sandy loved to travel back and forth to Florida to spend the winters with her fur babies.  She would load them up and head to her sister’s house where she would stay until it got warmer back in Alabama.

In her later years, she loved watching Lifetime TV and Westerns.  If she couldn’t find something she enjoyed on TV, she played Candy Crush.  She was rated in the top 5 playing the game at one point.

Survivors include her sons:  Chris Ford and his wife Lisa; Tony Ford and his wife Lori; her grandchildren:  Ashley Ford, Kimberly Ford, Caroline Ford, Alexander Ford and Gregory Ford; great-grandchildren Harmony Angel Edde, Nathan Ford, Nicholas Ford, Aiden McGee and Ember McGee.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends for the 2nd visitation on Saturday, February 24th, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
