Rebecca Sue Willoughby

September 16, 1935 — September 13, 2017

Rebecca Sue Hankins Willoughby of Albertville passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Marshall Manor Nursing Home as a result of a long illness. Ms. Willoughby lived at 154 Angela Meadows and had been a resident of Albertville since 1972. She was born on September 16, 1935 in Lamar County. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Elois Wright and Marvin Hankins, her brother Charles Hankins, and her youngest child, Joseph Amos Willoughby. Ms. Willoughby was a homemaker and her primary goal in life was to be a wife, mother and friend. Through the years, Ms. Willoughby was active in her community and HOPE Church of Albertville (previously the SUMMIT). She will be remembered most for her smile, her sense of humor, her giving nature and the love she extended to each person she met.
Ms. Willoughby is survived by her sons Terry Willoughby (Freda) of Albertville, and Roger Willoughby (Julie) of Pensacola, Florida; and her daughter Rhonda Willoughby Springfield of Albertville. She has four grandchildren, Josh Willoughby (Traci) of Niceville, Florida, Ben Willoughby (Chelsea) of Columbia, Tennessee, Emily Springfield of Niceville, Florida and Jillian Willoughby of Pensacola, Florida. Ms. Willoughby was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Leland Willoughby and Brantlee Willoughby.
Special thanks to the members of HOPE Church, the Staffs of Shepherds Cove Hospice, Marshall Medical Centers North and South and Marshall Manor Nursing Home. There will be a private family celebration of her life on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
