Ray Cosby Dennis

Ray Cosby Dennis, age 74, of Guntersville passed away at Marshall Medical Center North Wednesday, Aug 20, 2014. He had been battling brain cancer for the past 10 months.

He was born and raised in Grant and graduated from DAR High School. He enjoyed his monthly gathering with his classmates of 1958. After retirement, he opened an antique shop in Grant that was his old home place. His love for woodworking inspired him to build his own log cabin that was beside his antique store called "Ray's Place". He was an active member and deacon at Solitude Baptist Church in Albertville for 51 years.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Earlene Traylor Dennis; daughter, Teresa (Tommy) Stewart; grandchildren, Amberly (Kyle) Baugh and Brandon Stewart; great-grandchildren, Lainey and Judd Baugh.

Mr. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, John and Eloise Dennis; brother, Kenneth Dennis; sister, Doris Williams.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, Aug 21st at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until service time. Bro. Joey Cannady and Bro. Willis Kelly will officiate with burial at Marshall Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will include: Rex Provence, Greg Stewart, Orville Mosley, Jerry Hudgins, Larry Walden, Danny Thrash, Arley Traylor and Kelvin Harbison.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Randy Burks, Lenford Godwin, Fred Camp, Kenneth Young and Rickey Traylor.
