Mary Elizabeth (Mcclain) Cole

Mary Cole, 70, of Leeds, AL (formerly of Guntersville, AL), peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023; her beloved son, Robert, and precious cat, Princess, were by her side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday June 27th, 2023, at the First Methodist Church of Guntersville with Pastor Terry Bentley officiating.

Mary was born on February 10th, 1953, to Celeste & Charlie McClain in Guntersville. After graduating from Marshall County High School in 1971, she studied professional courses before working for the Guntersville School System and Housing Authority for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her sister, Sara Patricia; and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Robert; stepchildren, Melissa & Chris; and grandchildren, Taylor, Christian, & Gideon.

The family remembers Mary for her bright smile, fighting spirit, love of animals, and joy of traveling. They will miss her greatly and are thankful for the support of friends at this time.

The family will accept friends from 1:00 pm on Tuesday until the start of the service.  The family requests everyone that attends wear beach clothes, cruise clothes or something similar to honor Mary and her love of cruises.
