Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bennett age 85, of Guntersville passed away September 21, 2015 at Shepherd's Cove Hospice of Marshall County surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Earnest Bennett; children, Ann (Randy) Holloway, Wendell (Ida) Bennett, Mattie (Kenneth) Robinson, Joyce Dunn, Clyde (Barbra) Barksdale, Harris (Mattie) Barksdale and Marie McGlaun. She is also survived by an abundance of grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Bennet is also survived by her brother, James Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Mary Alice Holcomb; a daughter, Bonnie Bennett; four sisters and 4 brothers.

The family welcomes friends to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bennett with them on Wednesday night from 5-8 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery in the Summit Community near Blountsville.

Brother, Paul Kelley and Brother Larry Camp will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Smith, Nathan Tackett, Kevin Robinson, Jimmy Dunn, Daniel Ogle, James Barksdale and Rayford Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Barksdale, Mickey Bennett and Adam Bennett.
