John Curtis Porch, 81, passed away at Huntsville Hospital on December 27th, 2023, with most of his loving family by his side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.  Funeral Services will be on Saturday, December 30th at 3:00 pm with David Porch officiating.  A burial will follow in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

The pallbearers will be Blake Wildhagen, Matt Wildhagen, Richard Fox, Tommy Allison, Lance Black, Tracy Wilmon, Tracy Richerson, Wess Damon and James Whitaker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be The Guntersville Rescue Squad.

John was preceded in death by his parents LL and LaMerle Porch.

John was an insurance salesman where he met much of the community and made some really good friends.

He was a huge Alabama fan and the family requests that you show your support of John by wearing HIS team colors of crimson and white to support the family.  He enjoyed watching his Crimson Tide play and really enjoyed those national championship games.

He loved adventures and could be found exploring nature or different places with his kids.  He loved researching genealogy and was always talking about the family tree.

John is survived by his loving children:  Andrew Porch (Sherry); Jennifer Smith (Rickey); Keith Porch; David Porch (Holly) and Lorrie Porch; 14 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Guntersville Rescue Squad, where a basket will be set up at Marshall Memorial.  Or Clearview Cancer Institute (Russel Hill Cancer Foundation)

The family will receive friends at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the service starts.
