Elsie Lee Hinson

Elsie Lee Hinson of Bessemer passed away early morning March 1,2025, with her loving family by her side. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Brasher's Chapel Cemetery.

Elsie was preceded in death by her first husband Jimmy Bill Hinson; her second husband Tony Ray Smith; her parents Claudie Cleveland and Annie Lou Smith Colquitt; her sisters Essie Marie Colquitt Higgins and Claudiette Colquitt and her brother Bobby William Colquitt.

Elsie was born in 1939 to Claudie and Annie Lou Colquitt in Alabama.  She was raised and grew up in the state of Alabama. She met and married her husband Jimmy and they had a wonderful life together until he passed away.

She married Tony Smith and they had several years together enjoying life, until he passed away.

Elsie was a very proud Mary Kay salesperson, who achieved success selling their products.  She was always happy working for the company and going around promoting the Mary Kay.

Elsie is survived by her daughter Deborah Sims Wren and her husband Lee; grandchildren April Nacole Sims Benson (Charles); Matthew Blake Sims (Colby); Justin Lee Wren (Layla) and Bethany Wren Smith (Derek); great-grandchildren Aaron Dewayne Benson (Kayla); Ashton Kade Benson; Benjamin Lee Smith; Evan Jackson Wren; Jesse Levi Sims; Samuel Joseph Smith and Ezra Brave Sims; great-great grandchild Arthur James Benson and her siblings:  Edna Mae Colquitt Sims; Betty Faye Colquitt Nicholson; Annie Claudine Colquitt Clark; Claudie Elton Colquitt; Mary Lou Colquitt Lyons and James Luther Colquitt.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the start of the service.
