Dwight Eugene Johnson

Dwight Eugene Johnson, 85, passed away on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 17th, 2025, with Brothers Donny Lanier; Jeff Teal and Billy Swearengin officiating.

Dwight was preceded in death by his grandson Jeffery Swearengin; his parents Louie and Annie Johnson and his sister Juanita Jones.

Dwight was born and raised in Alabama where he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to people. 

He loved to mow yards, and he took pride in making his yard the best in the neighborhood. 

In his spare time, he loved watching the Atlanta Braves or Westerns. His favorite Western was Gunsmoke. He was a huge fan of Paul “Bear” Bryant and loved telling his family about the glory days of the 1970s Bama Football Team.

Dwight is survived by his loving wife Patricia Ann Johnson; his daughters Cindy Gillinger; Sherry Hall; Rhonda Knoedler and chosen son Brian Nailer; grandchildren: Michael Gillinger; Jerry Gillinger; Krystal Gillinger; Diana Hall; Eric Wigginton; Patrick Wigginton; Jordan Nailer; Kendra & Angel Godinez; Grace Nailer and Zaida Nailer; great-grandchildren: Taylor Gillinger; Hailey Gillinger; Cameron Wigginton; Kohn Wigginton; Kane Wigginton; Charlotte Wigginton; William Ward; Carson Ward; Walker Gillinger; Destin Gillinger; Colten Gillinger; Bailey Nailer; Madalyn Godinez and great grandson: Wyatt Gillinger.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the start of the service on Monday.
