Colonel Kenneth Westra

Colonel Kenneth George Westra, 87, of Blountsville passed away on December 7th, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.  Graveside services will follow with military honors at the family’s private cemetery located at 1000 Finis Murphree Rd.

Colonel Westra was preceded in death by his sons Danny and Kris.

Colonel Westra proudly served our country in the Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Special Forces and as a deputy in the local sheriff’s department.

He was a man who loved life and he enjoyed flying helicopters as a pilot.  He was a thrill seeker, so he absolutely loved it when he had to jump out of a helicopter.

After he retired, his favorite things to do were spending time with his love Mrs. Bonnie and taking her dancing.

Kenneth is survived by his wife:  Bonnie Westra; his daughter Charlotte Booth; his grandchildren Bonnie Strickland (Jason) and Misty Lide (Sam); his great grandchildren Sophia, Abby, Kaylyn, Izayah, Alivia and Georgia and his future great great grandchild due soon.

The family will receive friends from 11am on Tuesday 12/12/23 at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home until the time of the service.
