Beverly Pultz Sorcic

Beverly Rae Sorcic 73, of Arab died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Hospice of Marshall County's Shepherd's Cove.

Mrs. Sorcic was born July 3, 1940 in Tomahawk, WI. to Ray and Blanch Pultz. She was married to Anthony V. Sorcic for 53 years.

She moved to Arab in 1971, along with her husband and children. She was active in her community as a hospital volunteer, scout leader, and was very involved with church activities. She was employed by Marshall Medical center until her retirement in 2002.

She is survived by her husband Anthony ( Tony ) Sorcic, her daughters Tracie Bayer ( Jay ), Stephanie Atchley, and son Michael Sorcic ( Teresa ). Also surviving is her 94 year old mother Blanch Pultz, brother Larry Pultz ( Rosemary ), sister Judy Brushaber, and grandchildren Seth Bayer, Evan Bayer, Cody Martin, Ethan Atchley, Hunter Owens, and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Ray Pultz and sister Evelyn Pultz.

Visitation and prayer service will be held on Friday, February 21, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. William Catholic Church in Guntersville, AL. On Saturday, February 22, at 10:30 AM at the church, a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be said for Beverly.

Internment will be at Brookwood Cemetery in Arab at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Sorcic, Scot Pultz, Dave Braun, John Bannan, Dennis Liederbach, and Norb Patla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society, care of St. William Catholic Church, 929 Gunter Ave, Guntersville AL 35976.
