Nellie Mae (Harrell) Young

Nellie Mae Young, 87, of Albertville passed away on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, at her home with her devoted children by her side.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday April 13th, 2024 with Brother Chris Reaves officiating at Marshall Memorial Gardens.

Nellie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years George Young; granddaughter Kristin Young Thompson and her parents Bleauford and Margie Harrell.

Nellie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and her children.  She was proud to make a loving home for her family and loved cooking for them.  Her three children were raised with integrity and love by her.

Mrs. Young loved to cook and loved to feed her family and anyone who visited their house.  Her children remember the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen when they were growing up at home.  She loved canning homemade food for her family.

Nellie was a member of Highpoint Baptist Church, and she loved attending her church and seeing her church family.  She loved serving her Lord.

Nellie is survived by her children:  Rickey Young and his wife Beverly, Greg Young and his wife Mona, and Donna Barnes and her husband Roland, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
